WARRANTY & CARE
We've listed care instructions, along with our warranty below, but we are always here to help you with any questions.
You can reach us at info@leahalexandra.com.
CARE GUIDE
• To extend the life of your pieces, remove them before doing any activity that may cause physical damage.
• Don't wear your products while using harsh chemicals, lotions, beauty products, and perfumes.
• Remove them while swimming as chlorine can cause your jewelry to deteriorate.
• When not being worn, store your jewelry in a safe, dry place to protect it from the elements of daily exposure. We recommend storing your pieces in our jewelry wallets, which are lined with an anti-tarnish microsuede fabric.
• Before storing your jewelry away, always be sure to wipe it down to prevent it from tarnishing.
14K GOLD
While 14k gold is made to last a lifetime, it does require gentle care. 14k gold should be removed before exercising and sleeping and kept in our jewelry wallets to protect it.
GOLD VERMEIL & GOLD FILLED
Vermeil & gold filled will naturally tarnish over time, especially when exposed to environmental factors like air pollution, moisture, and items that contain sulfur, however it is easy to restore the shine with proper care and maintenance. Clean your pieces regularly by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth or using a polishing cloth. Store them in a safe, dry place—such as our jewelry wallets.
GOLD PLATED
It’s not out of the ordinary for gold plating to wear over time. Our rings and pendants (unless otherwise stated) are made in sterling silver and plated with 14k gold and eventually, the gold will wear from friction and rubbing it against objects you touch throughout the day.
It is important to ensure that gold plated jewelry is being properly cared for i.e. removing before bed, washing hands, showering, cleaning, applying lotions, as well as being stored in a safe, dry place to discourage the process of tarnishing.
STERLING SILVER
Proactive maintenance is the best way to prolong the lifespan of sterling silver.
Clean your sterling silver pieces by wiping with a soft, dry cloth. To remove tarnish, buff gently with a silver polishing cloth.
Our Spark jewelry is a collection of custom sized chains that are welded closed for a seamless look. They are mean to be worn long term without daily removal like traditional jewelry, however this means they require more considered care as well.
If you know you'll be swimming in a chlorine pool, kindly cut your bracelet off in an area you think is the most convenient place to re-weld (e.g. if your bracelet has a jump ring). When you're ready to have your piece welded back on, feel free to walk into one of our boutiques at your earliest convenience!
If you need to remove your Spark item for any reason, i.e. an MRI or medical procedure, you can take the bracelet off by using scissors. If you can, cut in an area you think is the most convenient place to re-weld (e.g. if your bracelet has a jump ring). When you're ready to have your piece welded back on, feel free to walk in at your earliest convenience!
Gemstones have varying degrees of hardness and need to be cared for properly.
Many coloured gemstones stones are susceptible to discolouration and fading when excessively exposed to natural elements such as sun, salt water, perspiration, and chemical irritants like chlorine, cosmetics, and lotions.
OPALS
Opals are sensitive to sudden temperature changes and water, therefore, we recommend removing your pieces while washing your hands or taking a shower. When you're not wearing your opal jewelry, we recommend storing your pieces in a sealed plastic bag to protect them from humidity.
PEARLS
To care for your pearls, gently wipe them with a soft, microfibre cloth after each use. If needed, use warm soapy water (pure soap only) to remove makeup, lotion or perspiration, ensuring they are completely dry. Avoid wearing pearls in water (salt or freshwater) as it can damage the silk thread.
EMERALDS
Emeralds are brittle, so they should be handled with extra care. To keep your emerald jewelry looking its best, be mindful of how you wear it. Any physically challenging activity could impact your jewelry.

14kt gold filled is a solid layer of gold that is bonded together through heat and pressure to other metal alloys. It is tarnish-resistant and does not rub off or turn colours. Gold filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20th gold by weight. This metal composition has similar characteristics to solid gold such as strength and durability.
Gold plating is a fine, 2-micron layer of solid gold applied on top of another metal. Our pieces are predominately gold-plated over sterling silver unless noted otherwise. Gold plating lasts according to how it is cared for.
