Our Story
Leah Alexandra Jewelry was born from a lifelong obsession with gemstones. Originally from the East Coast, Leah spent a summer in Nantucket working at an oyster bar, saving every tip and sketching jewelry ideas between shifts. She had no idea that those sun-soaked days and quiet moments of inspiration would become the spark for something so much bigger.
After moving to Vancouver, she traded in her savings for tools and supplies, setting up a small workspace at her kitchen table. With her background in design and metalsmithing, Leah launched her brand in 2006. What started as a one-woman show soon evolved into a global brand with a loyal following around the world. LAJ has since been featured in internationally recognized publications such as Vogue, Elle, InStyle, and many others, and has been worn by celebrities including Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, and Olympic gold medalist Tessa Virtue.

Our dedicated production team carefully strings and sets each stone and bead, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship. From sketch to final polish, every detail is handled in-house with care and intention.

We’re the original Spark Studio, creators of the signature permanent welding technique for fine jewelry including necklaces, bracelets, rings, anklets, and hand chains. Known for our iconic Spark bracelets, this offering remains at the heart of our brand. Each piece is seamlessly welded by our skilled technicians and can be personalized with meaningful charms, engravings, and more.

We use only high-quality, lasting materials to craft jewelry that’s made to be layered, lived in, and loved season after season. Our pieces feature natural gemstones, freshwater pearls, solid gold, gold vermeil, gold fill, and sterling silver, all selected for their lasting shine, durability, and the unique character they bring to every collection.

Gemstones are ethically sourced through global partners in regions known for their craftsmanship, including India and the hills of Italy, giving each piece a sense of story and place.
From the beginning, it has always been about gemstones each with its own personality, energy, and beauty. Moonstone, opal, rose quartz, pearl, turquoise, emerald, and others are just a few of the elements that bring our designs to life. Gems serve as a daily reminder of how fascinating and precious our planet is. No two are alike, and each one possesses something special.
